Job Summary:
A leading Medical Device company is seeking R&D Packaging Engineers to develop and analyze packaging for acquisition and integration activities. Engineers will work onsite and contribute to packaging design, testing, and integration efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and analyze packaging designs to meet regulatory and performance standards.
- Perform due diligence and integration activities as required.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Quality, R&D, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Operations, Marketing).
- Work with suppliers to design, qualify, and procure packaging components.
- Conduct packaging testing, bench studies, and process validations.
- Generate test protocols, reports, and other packaging-related documentation.
- Perform root cause analysis for design, material, or process failures.
- Design and fabricate tooling and fixtures as needed.
- Identify areas for continuous improvement and stay updated on industry advancements.
Requirements:
- Education: B.S. degree minimum (Packaging degree preferred).
Experience:
- MS with 2+ years or BS with 4+ years in R&D Packaging Engineering in the Medical Device industry.
- Knowledge of ISO 11607 Part I & II, ASTM, and ISTA standards.
Skills:
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and multitasking capabilities.
- Experience with quality systems (design inputs/outputs, verification, validation).
- Familiarity with paperboard, flexible films, Tyvek, thermoformed trays, injection-molded parts, temperature-controlled packaging, and reusable packaging.
- Packaging process and equipment qualification experience.
